This has been my first week back to work after being home with our beautiful new baby girl. I am so happy to be seeing all of our clients again, talking with adults, and showering more frequently(ish). And I am very excited to get working on all of the projects that I dreamed up during my time off.

But… this transition has not been an easy one.

Sometimes you need a major life event to evaluate what is important in life. Sometimes you need to force yourself to sit down and think about what is truly important, most critical, and needs your undivided attention.

Fighting through your fears

One of the biggest challenges that face people who want to start a fitness program is insecurity. And who could blame them based on some of the stereotypical thoughts when it comes to what goes on at a fitness facility. Fighting through our fears is one of the biggest challenges in life. But when you fight through your fears you are rewarded with some of the best things life has to offer.

Take it slow. Your fast pace could be causing you pain.

For those of you committed to a training program or an exercise plan, you may be doing everything you can to ensure you get results. Then a little injury pops up. You think, it’s not a big deal and it doesn’t keep you from working hard, so you push through, proving your dedication. Well, I am here to tell you that if you slow down when you are exercising you will allow your body to move as it is intended to, repair recurring injuries, and limit the opportunity for new injuries to happen.

Foam rolling to improved mobility, pain relief, and better posture
